Sapa 2 days 1 night tour: by train, private car, motorbike or by bus
You could go to Sapa by different means of transport, let make a comparison about the cost you have to pay.
Many youngsters love to experience Sapa by motorbike but this bears risk when you make a ride more than 320km (motorbike cannot go on Noi Bai – Lao Cai hwy). It is even more dangerous when you go up the Sapa pass. Road there is so zigzag. You should be the backpackers with time unlimited and healthy to do the trip by this way.
By train to Sapa 2 days 1 night:
There exist many train company to choose, but the price is mostly the same. You should pay 40 – 50$ for return ticket per person. The train starts from Hanoi at 8:50pm or 9:50pm (SP3) and arrives Lao Cai in the next early morning. But you can not reach Sapa by train. From Lao Cai, you have to pay more money for local bus to Sapa town. It costs 3 – 4$/each for public bus.
By private car:
If you are group of 2 – 5 people want to get to Sapa you could hire a private car. You could have your own driver but by this way it cost quite a lot. You have to pay at least 300$ only for transportation not to mention foods, accommodation, guide in Sapa, entrance ticket…
By bus for Sapa 2 days 1 night tour:
This is highly recommended. You are secured all the services from the beginning till the end. 2014, the Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway was opened for vehicles. It is much more convenient, saver and takes less time. There are a few tour operators in Hanoi started to take travelers to Sapa for 2 days 1 night by bus since late 2014. You start from the Old Quarter at 7am then get on the bus and arrive Sapa around 12:30pm. Normally it takes 90$ – 100$/each for the tour 2 days in Sapa. Tour includes all the services : water on bus, foods, accommodations, entrance fee, guide. The tour only finishes when they drop you off in your hotel. I did the Sapa 2 days tour with Aroka Travel in May, 2015 and it was fabulous tour.
