must do tour

I wanted to check out some of the rural scenery of Vietnam/Hanoi and was recommended this day tour out to the Tam Coc Wharf which is around 120 kms out of Hanoi – on the way we visited the King Dinh and King Le’s temples in the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. Lunch was at a new restaurant and consisted of a buffet – pretty average but filled the gap. Highlight of the tour was the sampan ride on the river – the people use their legs rather than arms – note tips are expected but I guess that is fair enough for the 90 mins they have to row you. After the sampan ride you can go for a ride through some rice paddy’s – stunning vistas but my only issue is that we didn’t stop to take some photos. The bus that you go on is nice and comfortable and they give you bottled water in the morning and afternoon. Definitely worth checking out the rural scenery – very much enjoyed my day out
recommended: for your 1 day trip.

Tour was excellent! Very well organized, guide was speaking very good English and provided a lot of useful info, and he was really funny (Kimi rules!). Drive to Tam Coc was pleasant, we had a nice 40 min bike ride and around 2 hours boat ride, plus delicious lunch with lots of food. Absolute recommendation!

While in Hanoi in March we did a day tour to Hoa Luc & Tam Coc with Aroka Travel. The highlight was at Tam Coc where in traditional boats locals row with both hands and legs taking you to 3 spectacular caves passing hundreds of limestones during the 2 hour round trip. The peaceful scenery of mountains, rice fields and temples along the way is quite beautiful. This was followed by a memorable bicycles ride outside the town through the countryside and rice paddies.
